Galaxxxy Announces New Range of Vibrant Shibuya-kei Clothing

If you’ve ever walked around the streets of Shibuya or Harajuku, chances are you’ve seen a Galaxxxy piece. The brand commands a presence all over the world, and are easily identifiable by their signature hyper-cute, often 80’s-infused characteristics. They represent the modern-age of street fashion in Japan, paving the way for new trends and styles that give Tokyo it’s signature charm. Having collaborated with established musicians such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and Porter Robinson, as well as series such as Sailor Moon and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, it’s easy to see their pull. With this year being the brand’s 10th anniversary, it comes at little surprise that they’re going all out.

Announced Thursday, Galaxxxy have officially released four new pieces as Japan finally enters the Spring season. As vibrant as ever, the collection comes available in multiple colors ranging from pastel pink to deep blue. In signature Galaxxxy style, we see a flawless blend of magical girl one pieces and bubbly transparent jackets. You can check out the full release list below:

Available in three colors including blue, green and purple, this magical girl-inspired dress blends the cutest aspects of the 2D world with our own 3D reality. The piece stands out on it’s own, making it the perfect fit for casual events or, as the brand puts it, trips to an amusement park. Priced at 7,800 yen (roughly $75 USD), the dress comes in one size option targeting Japanese audiences. The dress is available for purchase through the online store, here.

The perfect compliment to any outfit, Galaxxxy’s ‘Aurora Bubble Blouson’ sets itself apart with it’s opaque baby yellow and baby pink color variants. The blouson is fitted with loose sleeves and a comfortable inner-material that was inspired by the concept of bubbles. As a light-outerwear piece, it finds it’s place as an ideal compliment to an already complete fit. Priced at 8,900 yen (roughly $85 USD), the blouson also finds itself with a one-size option. It’s available for purchase in two color variants, here.

The final piece in the collection, and one that isn’t available internationally just yet is the striking mahjong top and skirt. Available in two colorways, blue and pink, the top and bottom are adorned with traditional mahjong tiles. Whether you’ve played the table game or not, the complete outfit is a visually impressive piece that is sure to catch people’s attention. Priced at 4,800 yen for the top, and 5,800 yen for the skirt, the piece is available in Japan through the official website, here.
